Pumping gas after topping off?
25.September, 2009
My dad has always squeezed a few more drops (to where the gallon move , but the price doesn’t) after it clicks.. so I have learned that habit. However, I read somewhere on a conversation page that no more gas actually goes in and you just pay more for nothing. Is this right?

all cars that are less than10 years old have what is called an evap system. you should never top off the tank when the pump shuts off the tank is full. If you read the info on the pump handle itsaysdo not top off this is why it says it…..

A lot of mechanics say that is an unneccesary evil as it can cause problems of some sort.
Also, if you top off on a hot day and park shortly thereafter, the gas expands and pukes all over the ground and the Edna will report you

yes i’ve been recommended not to do that, it doesn’t really give you more for your $, and it can just make a mess.
